When Life Changes, What You Know and How You’re Protected Matters.
For Tory Wilson, Mr. Wilson Consulting is more than a business. It grew from professional experience and deeply personal lessons about health, income, protection, and financial preparedness.
A Health Crisis Can Become a Financial Crisis.
On September 11, 2001, I was on my way to work in New York City when I exited the subway and found myself in the middle of the attack on the World Trade Center. My first instinct was to move toward the building to help people get out. Something inside told me to back away.
I ran as the events unfolded and was engulfed in debris from the Twin Towers. After surviving the immediate danger, I walked for hours trying to make my way closer to home. The physical consequences became apparent afterward. My feet became severely swollen, and I needed medical attention.
But the physical injuries were only part of what followed. When I sought care, I was told that my medical expenses were not covered because of a terrorism exclusion. I used my own resources to pay those bills, contributing to serious financial hardship for my family and me.
Health, Income, and Protection Can Affect One Another.
Years later, after moving to Texas and beginning to rebuild financially, I developed severe carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel conditions that affected my ability to work.
I went on disability at substantially less than my regular income while also facing the full cost of continuing health coverage through COBRA. The financial pressure became severe, and my home went into foreclosure twice.
Once again, my health affected my income, and the loss of income affected my ability to protect everything else.
Your Health and Financial Well-Being Are Connected.
This is not simply a phrase on our website. I have lived it.
A health event can affect your ability to work. A reduction in income can affect your ability to maintain coverage, pay household expenses, preserve savings, protect your home, or prepare for retirement. Unexpected events can expose several vulnerabilities at the same time.
That is why Mr. Wilson Consulting helps individuals, families, and businesses understand the connections among healthcare access, Medicare, supplemental and ancillary benefits, life and protection, travel and international health, employer benefits, and financial services.
We Identify the Gaps and Help Provide Solutions.
Education is the beginning, not the end. We help clients understand their situation, identify potential gaps, and move toward appropriate solutions.
The Experience Behind the Mission
Some experiences change more than a moment. They change how you see health, family, protection, income, and the future.
Helping Illuminate the Path Forward.
Our role is to help you understand what you are navigating, see the available paths, identify potential gaps, and evaluate what solutions may be appropriate.
Clarity when the path feels uncertain. Guidance when the options feel complicated. Solutions after the needs and gaps are understood.
Our Mission and Our Standard
We are insurance and financial consultants with a mission of empowering families and businesses through financial education, helping families protect and grow their income and secure their financial future.
This standard influences how we listen, educate, identify potential gaps, and approach the responsibility of helping provide solutions.
Protecting Brilliance.
Empowering Legacy.
The experiences behind Mr. Wilson Consulting reinforced a lasting principle: what we work to build deserves to be understood, protected, and carried forward with intention.
